[제주도 드라마 촬영지] 장혁, 김하은님이 다녀가신 안덕계곡을 아시나요?? "추노"이대길과 설화 촬영지 이웃님들과 함께 제주도 여행을 하며 즉흥적으로 정해진 안덕계곡!!! 쇠소깍과 풍경이 비슷해 혹시 추노를 촬영하지 않았을까??? 집에 돌아와 정보를 알아보는데 추노 촬영지가 맞네요~ 이대길과 설화가 하룻밤 쉬어간 장소!!! 장혁님과 김하은님이 다녀가신 안덕계곡!!! 추노 촬영지 인지도 모르고 갔는데 이곳에 장혁님과 김하은님이 다녀가셨다니~~ 더군다나 추노에서 이대길과 설화가 하룻밤 쉬어간 장소라니~~~ 혹시나 싶어 추노 9회를 다시 보니 정말 맞네요~~ 생각지도 못한 포스팅!!! 빨.......

Making the Water-Energy Connection

Jessica Culverhouse is program manager for National Environmental Education Week (EE Week), a program of the National Environmental Education Foundation designed to connect educators with resources to improve K-12 students' understanding of the environment. Have you ever wondered how far your water travels from its source to your kitchen faucet? Or thought about the energy required to heat the water for your shower? Did you know that water is a key component in the process of producing electricity from coal and other thermoelectric energy sources?

Above: In most homes and schools, water heating is second only to HVAC in terms of electricity requirements.

Generating power consumes three percent of our nation's water annually while thirteen percent of the energy produced each year is used to treat, transport and heat our water (source: River Network). Conserving water saves energy, and vice versa. Our nation's water and energy resources are increasingly important topics of discussion not just in the news, but in classrooms and homes as well. The water-energy connection is complex, but it provides an excellent opportunity to reflect on the interrelatedness of ecological, geographical and environmental concerns.

Energy and water are deeply interconnected, and EE Week provides resources for educators to help students better understand this complex issue.

This April 11-17, thousands of educators and students will investigate the water-energy connection as part of National Environmental Education Week (EE Week) by taking part in a variety of activities on the topics of water and energy. Some are planning school water and energy audits in math and science classes. Geography and social studies teachers are organizing research projects about the sources of fresh water around the globe and the energy required to transport it. Others have developed projects in which students express the water and energy connection through art and poetry.

Join us for a week of teaching and learning about this complex issue by participating in EE Week. It's free and easy--just complete the brief online registration form. You'll have access to a wealth of teaching resources on the water-energy connection and other environmental topics, as well as funding resources, professional development for educators and discounts from some of our partners.

Educators and others who register for EE Week by March 25 will also be invited to participate in our first ever webinar--Teaching the Water-Energy Connection--to be held on Wednesday, March 31 at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time. This event is designed by and for educators and will provide an opportunity for teachers to learn more about the issue and get ideas on lesson plans and projects to engage students in investigating the water-energy connection.

Increasing floods in between dry periods represent ideal conditions for spreading diseases such as cholera. In Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania located in the desert, precipitations - when they occur - are always accompanied by a cholera epidemic, especially in poor areas where waste matter is not managed. Cholera had almost disappeared globally by the mid 1950s, but it reappeared and spread throughout the world during the last few decades. The World Health Organization (WHO) fears that a rapidly changing climate, combined with declining socio-economic conditions in the poorest part of the population, will contribute to an increasing spread of the disease.

Shanghai prepares for Expo 2010

Construction workers and organizers in Shanghai, China are busily completing tasks ahead of the planned opening of the 2010 World Expo on May 1st - planned to be the largest World Expo in history. The theme of the Expo is "Better City, Better Life", and is scheduled to run until October 31, 2010. In recent months, large construction and renovation projects have dominated much of Shanghai, in preparation for becoming the World's stage on May 1st. Up to 800,000 visitors are expected each day - a total of 70 million visitors in all visiting exhibitions from nearly 200 participants around the world. [네이버 해피빈] 부모의 마음이 이런 것인가 봅니다. 아이들에게 희망을~ 매달 15일은 해피빈 기부데이!!! 블로그를 확인하기 위해 로그인을 하니 보이는 동그란 해피빈 마크!!! 오늘은 해피빈 기부데이라는 마크가 떴을때 그동안 생각지도 못했던 기부가 생각이 났어요~ 그져 로그인만 했을 뿐인데 하나둘씩 쌓인 콩!!! 오늘은 그동안 모은 콩을 기부해 보려합니다. 다른 어려우신 분들도 많지만~ 아들과 딸을 키우는 부모의 입장에선 아이들에게 희망을 조금이라도 주고 싶어요. 그동안 바쁘다는 핑계로 잊고 지냈던 콩 기부~~ 제 조그마한 기부가 도움이 되었으면 하는 바램입니다~~ 아이들에.......

1. 얼마전 이삿짐을 정리하다, 오래전 사촌누나가 어머니에게 보내온 편지를 찾았습니다. 1980년 6월, 휴교령이 내려진 대학을 나오면서 보내온 편지였습니다. 그렇지만 20대라는 시기는, 그때나 지금이나 별로 다르지 않았나 봅니다. 의대생이었던 누나는 편지에 이렇게 적고 있네요. ...인생에 대한 회의, 무엇이 나의 고민인지 알지 못하며 지내던 방황의 시절... 지나간 나의 6년간의 긴 방황과 불안. 마음 아파하던 것들... 아직도 나 자신이 된 느낌은 안들어요... 맞아요. 알고보면 즐거운 청춘이 어디에 있을까요. 그래서 다들 많이 힘들어하고, 고민하고, 방황하곤 합니다. 이십대가 웃으며 살아갈 수 있는 세상이 어디간들 있을까요.......
